Do your bumpers affect the airbag functionality?
No, one misconception of airbags is that the bumpers affect the airbag to work, this is not true. Actually there is a sensor that activates the deployment of the airbag. Airbag sensors detect the crash and then send an electrical signal to fire the airbags, sensors measure deceleration, which is the rate at which the vehicle slows down. Sensors are located either in the front of the vehicle and/or in the passenger compartment.

On your Ford superduty front bumper, what is the ease of installation and how long would it take? Can I do this myself or would I have to have someone professionally install it?
The installation is all bolt on, no welding required. You and 2 buddies can do this install yourself. It has been taking us around an hour or two to get it installed, lined up correctly and get the lights working. You can have a shop install it for you, but what fun is that going to be?
